I'm
very sorry I'm not allowing any local bands to leave comments on our
myspace page or linking to your band in our Florida Musicians page but
unless you put a link to Florida Entertainment Scene,
I am not going out of my way to help promote you. Of course If you link
to us I will return the favor and put a link to your website in our Florida Musicians Page.
Now
before you say I'm a Richard, I am going to tell you why. There is this
band from Orlando, I won't name them but a couple of months ago we
reviewed their CD (gave them one hell of a good review too) Now I did
this as a favor to someone who is good friends with the band. I also
did this ahead of other local bands who have asked us to review their
music.
They played a show at Hard Rock Live and hired this out
of state photographer who promptly alienated every photographer at the
show by asking them to prove they are a working professional
photographer and then tells everyone "I'm the only one who can shoot
their set." Now Florida Entertainment Scene was there and so were other
local publications including a very well known local print publication.
I told the venue about what this band was doing they were like these
fucking guys play LiveWire here's a pass go shoot them.
Make a
long story short the out of state photographer they hired pissed
everyone off and now I'm not doing Richard for local bands until they
link to me. I am not the only one who is feeling this way either. A lot
of local publications both print and online do not want to cover the
Orlando music scene, In part because of the attitude of bands like the
one I just told you about.
After being disrespected by a band
that I helped to promote and gave a kick ass CD Review it's not worth
it to deal with that kind of attitude from a local band.
